About this talk

The Belfast Homecoming Ambassador Medal recognise's outstanding individuals who are helping to build Belfast. They are members of our global family who have gone the extra mile for Belfast and local heroes who are building international bridges to the diaspora.

Our Homecoming Ambassadors will be feted at virtual celebration to be broadcast live from Belfast on Thursday October 1st.

Join us as we celebrate our diaspora from across the globe who have joined us at this year’s Belfast International Homecoming.

Our Belfast Homecoming Cocktail has been chosen by Francis Schott, Restaurateur, New Brunswick, NJ and Belfast Ambassador.

The Blackthorn cocktail by Dale DeGroff in The New Craft of The Cocktail, the best selling cocktail book in history.

There are a lot of versions to this drink and Francis has add his own.

Blackthorne 1 oz Irish Whiskey (Dead Rabbit) 1 oz Dry Vermouth (Dolin) .75 oz Sloe Gin (Plymouth or home-made) 2 dashes Angostura Bitters 1 dash Absinthe or Pernod (optional but very nice)

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass with ice & stir. Strain off into small martini glass (Nick and Nora glass). Garnish with an orange peel, flamed if possible. (Bring Matches or a lighter)
